Therapeutic Drawing
Below are a variety of drawing techniques that are an expression of how the person is feeling.
Serial Drawing Technique
This is an example of serial drawing technique. The first drawing is titled ‘Mum in hospital’ and the second is titled ‘Together again’.
Picture Tapping Technique
This is an example of picture tapping technique. The first drawing is titled ‘Shattered Hopes’ and the second is titled ‘Contained’.
Guided Drawing Technique
The first drawing is an expressive/projective drawing, where the young person draws a person in the rain. The amount of rain, and the amount of protection e.g. umbrella, waterproof coat etc give an indication of how the young person is feeling.
Fade the Feeling Technique
This is an example of fade the feeling technique. Three drawings are drawn on the iPad in one session, with parts of the picture rubbed out as part of the work.
